The Prayer GardenHave you visited our Prayer Garden lately? The camellia bloomed in February, followed by the witch haxzel. In March the sunrise Easter service was held in this beautiful setting, with 27 people braving the cold to attend. In full bloom now are the pansies, dogwood and dianthus. If you would like to help Stewards of the Earth in maintaining this garden as well as the foundation plantings facing Franklin Road, contact Waneta Strickert at 297-4900. |
Scholastic Book Fair: Buy One Get One FreeWe will be having one more final book fair to round out the school year! This would be a great time to buy books for traveling this summer or just good books to read for fun at a great price! You may choose a FREE book of equal or lesser value for EVERY BOOK you buy. The dates an dtimes are as follows: Friday, May 16 - First day of sale 7:45 - 8:45 and 3:00 - 3:30 Sunday, May 18 - 9:00 - 9:30 and after 2nd service ends (held in the academy lobby; arrows on the floor will direct you to the fair) Monday, May 19 - 7:45 - 8:45 and 3:00 - 3:30 Tuesday, May 20 - 7:45 - 8:45, last day of sale Teachers will again be filling out their "Wish Lists" for their own classroom libraries. Please keep them in mind when you arre purchasing books for the fair. Wish List slips are in the pocket with each teacher's name on it, located on a small table near the front lobby doors of the academy. In the pocket are slips with the titles, prices, and location of the books they would like to have fori thier classrooms. You may take a many slips as you would like, purchase the book/s and place a donation sticker in the front of the donated book/s that the cashier will give to you. Tour Guide Moses is leading us (in the Book of Deuteronomy) on a flash-back trip from Egypt through the transformations of Israelite slaves into a nation of God's redeemed people, ready to occupy their Promise Land. We (who've been traveling with Moses since January) invite you to join us on this exciting adventure. We'll take off at 9:30am each Sunday morning in the South Fellowship Hall, continuing each Sunday morning as we follow the route of "Two Years Through the Bible". And we'll be amazed over and over again that God's mighty power to deliver and to provide for His people's every need in Christ -- today, too! We're ready for take-off. Your seat is waiting. Our Savior Girl Scout Troop 108 Active and Growing!OSLC&A Girl Scout Troop is comprised of 16 girls aged kindergarten to 8th grade, and we hope to grow over the next year. Not only we serve our girls from our Academy and Church, we also serve three girls from our community. What a great outreach opportunity we have to include girls in a Christian-based troop! We are blessed to have committed co-leaders, including Tonya Copeland (Jr/Cadette leader, Tanya Mullins (Brownie leader), Pam Pennington (cookie manager), and Amy Williams (overall and Daisy leader). We have several activities planned over the next few months and will be meeting throughout the summer. Please encourage all gils to join us! Summer Sunday School will be here before we know itOur plan is to have a "Cool Club' - type program during the Sunday school hour for ages PS - 5th grade, volunteers are needed to help with crafts; provide and serve snacks; supervise recreation; and teach the Bible lesson each week.
