When Lutherans attend the Lord's Supper, we believe these principles of faith are being confessed by us:
• Jesus is our Savior and Lord.
• Jesus really is present with His Body and Blood, "in, with, and under" the bread and wine that is served.
• God's love, forgiveness, and blessing for life are being pledged to the person attending.
• This is God's family meal to nurture His people with His Spirit in becoming more godly and faithful as members in His church.
You are welcome to commune with us if you:
• Have been baptized and instructed in the Christian faith, as summarized in Luther's Small Catechism
• Are sorry for your sins and are seeking to follow Jesus faithfully.
• Believe in the real presence of Jesus in the Sacrament - that is, that with the bread and wine, we receive the true Body and Blood of Jesus for the forgiveness of sins, life, and salvation.
• Intend to grow, with the help of the Holy Spirit, in a more committed and devoted life with Jesus and His Church people.
Because receiving Holy Communion in our church strongly implies a unity of faith, life and worship with us in our congregation, we ask non-Lutheran visitors first to discuss our basic beliefs and practices with the Pastor before communing at our altar.
